Being known for creating unsinkable center-console boats, this company’s very serious about the safety, duration and excitement every single one of their models provide to their owner and users. In this review, we’re going to deeply explore the Boston Whaler 230 Vantage, a compact boat with storage and sitting spaces and high-tech, after all it is Boston Whaler’s legend under a whole new light!
The first area we’re going to explore is the Helm Station, with an electronics access panel, a compass, and a tempered glass windshield, this space provides both accuracy to the Captain and control over the boat. Boston Whaler sure knows how to create high-tech comfortable environments for the Captain of their motorboats!
It also features a Mercury® DTS binnacle control, instrumentation, and electrical switch panel with circuit breaker protection. For comfort we find a Helm and companion footrests with two drink holders for the Captain and his co-captain.
Next to the Helm Station we find a comfortable convertible port lounge seat with storage, and the door that takes us to this boat’s Head.
The Head is a small but comfortable space, with a lockable entry door that assures you privacy when using this space. It features interior lights and a molded sink with drain. The grab rail and storage hooks are made from stainless steel, a resistant and lasting material. It also has a portable head with pump-out system. This head has the perfect space for you to feel comfortable in.
Let’s now explore the Bow area, the bolsters and cushions with backrest makes this area a very comfortable space to relax and enjoy the sun. It features four drink holders for better comfort and a 12-V receptacle to plug in any device or gadget. The lids are made of fiberglass to avoid corrosion. The walkthrough block off panel assures a safe transit between this space and the Helm Station.
The Cockpit features a 28” interior freeboard with 8’’ stainless steel cleats, two sterns with stainless steel hawse pipes and two pop-up spring lines. As in regular boats, the anchor storage is in this area, as well as the stern eyes and the motor well drains. A Boston Whaler signature, this model has combing bolsters and the courtesy lights (blue/white) on this area.
To make sure it’s still possible to use it as an entertainment space, it includes eight drink holders. It also features an extended integral swim platform with recessed telescoping dive ladder and grab rail and a transom door with stainless steel latch.
It also features four gunnel-mounted stainless steel rod holders, a self-bailing cockpit sole, and stainless steel grab rails. The transom door includes a stainless steel latch.
