OVERVIEW

It makes your eyes sparkle – Sunseeker Predator 57

Robert Braithwaite fantasized about manufacturing fashionable vessels in 1969. The initial configurations were custom-made for a few clients and the first vessel was manufactured in 1971. In the subsequent years, Robert’s younger brother conjoined the company and beat the game with the continuous improvement, unparalleled innovation, and eagerness to go where no man has gone before. Nowadays, he is a Product Development Director at the Sunseeker shipyard. Sunseeker has established itself as one of the most eminent companies in the nautical market. While boarding a Sunseeker, one can comprehend divine voyages that only a Sunseeker can offer. The Sunseeker employees are dexterous personnel with keen eyes and skilled hands and they are not afraid to take part in the big league. The Sunseeker vessels are distinguished by hawk-eye details, the finest finishes, and virtuosity. All their yachts are unique just like the Sunseeker Predator 57. This particular vessel possesses miscellaneous amusement tricks up her sleeve, and yet performance has not been neglected. Let us examine the Predator 57 review.

The overall length of the Sunseeker Predator 57 is 59 feet and 10 inches with a beam of 15 feet and 5 inches. The draft is 4 feet and 3 inches, while her displacement is 31 tons.  She can be powered up with different engine options. For instance, the first option is twin Volvo Penta D13 900 horsepower engines that propel from below the water or the IPS. On the other hand, one can choose the Arneson-propelled twin MAN 1200 horsepower version that propels from the surface. Either way, one is stunned with the Predator 57 performance since the engineers have discovered a proper set-up for every configuration. The cruising speed is around 23 knots with a top speed of 34 knots. Nevertheless, with the second engine option, one can even reach an unbelievable 45 knots. The ride is quite agile and smooth, while the maneuverability is at its highest.

The helm station of the Predator 57 is certainly a source of pride. Two sports upholstered helm seats are to starboard together with the helm. The hydraulic sports steering wheel makes driving much easier. The console features piano black color and comprises several handy gadgets and features like radar/plotter, autopilot, VHF radio, analog engine instrumentation, depth sounder, electric speed log, rudder indicator, compass, trim tab controls, double AC socket, 12V socket and a horn. The superiority of the performance certainly goes hand-in-hand with the helm's traits. To port, a huge foldable L-shaped settee occupies the saloon area with scattered cushions and a dining table. Overhead lighting and Radio/CD with Bluetooth complement the space.

The Predator 57 has gained a lot of success throughout the world and aforementioned glimpses are just some of the reasons why. Brace yourself; more surprises are coming since she has a couple of more tricks up her sleeve. The boat is thoroughly adaptable, meaning that the main bridge has a two-option layout. The first option is two separate areas made of the saloon and the cockpit. The second option is breaking the division between the cockpit and the saloon via a state-of-the-art sliding glass door. The glass door slides across, and when it’s locked down, it slides down with the press of a button and the whole unit disappears completely. Consequently, the main bridge becomes one open area.

The cockpit of the Sunseeker Predator 57 is a luncheon area encompassing upholstered seating containing waterproof cushions and a teak table that’s got a stainless steel leg and cup holders. It’s located to port. A wet bar with a fridge and a hot/cold water sink is located to starboard. Even the inside of the boat can be opened via retractable hardtop. Therefore, if the weather allows it, the boat can simply be transformed into an open ground from all sides.

Half the fun on a boat is the toys one can have onboard. The Predator 57 has a huge garage for toys such as a Williams 325. The hydraulic tender garage opens up electrically and the hydraulic swim platform enables storage for another jet ski. The hydraulic swim platform can be lowered down to help launch the jet ski. However, "you would normally lower the platform in order to launch or retrieve the tender that’s housed in the transom garage, but on a hot day you can put a lounge chair on it and stay cool in the water, or use it instead of a ladder to get in and out of the water when swimming" says Ron Montoya of Jefferson Beach Yacht Sales. All in all, it’s all part of the Predator 57's fun.

Going down below the Predator 57, one walks into the bright and spacious galley. Even though this is a sports cruiser, there’s a lot of accommodation down here. The full galley provides all the appliances and features one actually needs on a boat. A ceramic 4-ring touch control hob is at the center of the galley. The beautiful counter space is probably more immense than some home counters. A wonderful granite countertop contains a sink and a drainer with hot and cold water supply. Additionally, it’s got an electric fridge/freezer, hob extractor fan, 6 place crockery set, 6 place cutlery set and a vast amount of storage that’s placed above. A small lounge is opposite the galley to starboard. There’s a settee with storage below and a dining table. A 22-inch TV boosts the entertainment level down below alongside with the Radio/CD/DVD with Bluetooth and speakers. Overhead lighting triggers the positive atmosphere.

Moving forward, one encounters the Day Head. A gracious countertop sink and a full stand-up shower are main assets of the area. Supplementary assets are shower taps and accessories, extractor fan, bath and hand towels, mirrored cupboard, towel rail and an opening porthole with Venetian blind. The VIP suite can be entered from the Head. The VIP cabin of the Predator 57 is quite roomy and is bathed both with natural and overhead lighting. The natural light comes into the room via opening portholes which are integrated within the large windows on both sides. A double berth is located in the middle and a 22-inch TV is in front of it. For book lovers, reading lights are integrated above the berth.

To starboard and aft of the lounge, a guest cabin is furnished with two single Pullman style berths. It’s also got reading lights, storage under the bed, an opening porthole with mosquito screen and curtain, a 22-inch TV and a hanging wardrobe with a mirrored door. Nevertheless, this area can even be converted to a washer/dryer area or to a storage area. The Predator 57 has plenty of options and is, without any doubt, a gem.

Last but not the least, the Master aft cabin completely takes advantage of the craft’s beam. This is simply a sensational seating area. It’s equipped with a double queen berth with storage and a drawer underneath. A breakfast table is to starboard which serves as a perfect spot for that morning coffee. Extra large windows with integrated portholes enable natural light and ventilation. A 32-inch television definitely compliments the space too. That’s not all since it has a settee, hanging wardrobe, cupboards, wall lamps, overhead lighting, fitted carpet and outboard cabinets. The huge en-suite features plenty of space and storage with a full stand shower and a porthole.
