We all know that people that can afford a Superyacht are the top wealthy people on earth, but how much of that is true?

Well someone with more than US$30 million in net assets is the perfect candidate in line in terms of taking the luxury of having one of this monsters of the sea.

There are just 200,000 real candidates in the world.

This number came across a company named Towergate and they managed to compile a study to find out the accurate cost of owning a Superyacht, yes owning, not buying.

10% of the initial Superyacht value goes on operating costs, that summed up with a standard fuel usage of 500 liters an hour, that makes a value of $400,000 worth in petrol per year.
