Superyacht of the week: "Atomic" was a secret for the owner's family

The owner of the ?Atomic? yacht kept all the concept and building process hidden from his family, he was all 007 on this amazing secret just talking to the Turkish shipyard by secret calls and emails.

Then he took his family on vacations to Antalya last summer were ?Atomic? made the grand entrance and then he asked ?What do you think about that yacht?? to his wife and then said ?Well, it?s yours?.

This yacht remained secret for 12 months (can you imagine?) after signing terms with Sunrise Yachts in July 2013. 12 months is a really stretch deadline for a shipyard to do all the work ?Atomic? needed.

A lot was done: the hull, superstructure, fairing, insulation, engines and some systems,? says Carme, ?but it was a tight schedule. We had to deliver in summer 2014 to accommodate the owner?s wishes to cruise the eastern Med before bringing the yacht to the US for the Fort Lauderdale show.?-

The owner got involved in time to tweak it. ?He?s an avid scuba diver, so we included mother-of-pearl insets and other marine components to the d?cor,? says Carme. ?The client also decided to turn the garage into a dive centre with extensive sets of equipment, since he tows his tender.

The sundeck and foredeck of Atomic have been redesigned as well. Meanwhile, red lines were painted on the yacht to match the d?cor of his jet, and a clay pigeon-shooting machine was mounted on the sundeck arch.?
If they had a hard time with the deadline it certainly did not show on the yacht, the Franck Darnet interior is very easy on the eye and superbly finished, with headroom particularly impressive throughout.

The layouts that ?Atomic? offers are just amazing, the expansive main deck splits between a living room and a formal dining. The main galley is found there too. The owner?s area forward starts with a nook-cum-study, ahead of which is the full-beam bedroom and bathroom, the design of which reflects the comfortable tones of the main living areas.

The owner visited the yacht just one time during the construction process, that?s why he was nervous when ?Atomic? was delivered, but we think that he had nothing to be worried about because the outcome was AMAZING, don?t you think?
