Gabriel Medina is no stranger to competition in the water, but rarely do we see surfers dodging boats mid wave. Rip Curl's The Search documents these mishaps one surfer and one wave at a time. From mangled fishing hooks to unwanted shark encounters, and in this case wandering boats, these guys are definitely not alone in the water.
Thankfully Medina's boat encounter was a near miss with a quick bail on a cutback, but this is definitely the last thing I would expect when dropping in on a wave. Check out this video for the insane footage.
