A new saucer-shaped plastic boat is being touted as the ultimate fishing vessel.
The battery-operated Ultraskiff features a 360-degree central swivel seat - allowing riders to 'pivot and cast with unbelievable ease' - storage compartments with lids that double up as chopping boards and six rod holders.

Jeff Lizzio, from Dunedin, Florida, said he was inspired to design the watercraft after spending years fishing from uncomfortable kayaks and small jon boats, which landed him with a herniated disk in his lower back.

The Ultraskiff weighs 110lbs and has a diameter of six-feet.
Currently the invention is patent pending and only available to purchase directly from manufacturer for $750.

It does not come with a battery, motor, pedestal base or chair and these must be purchased separately.

Although Mr Lizzio designed the Ultraskiff with fishermen in mind, he says it's also perfect for other recreational activities including hunting, birdwatching and eco-tourism.
However, he warns that it is only suitable for calm, shallow waters.

A note on the Ultraskiff website reads: 'Although this boat is very stable, this is still a new and unconventional design.

We do not approve or recommend using the Ultraskiff in rough or fast-moving water of any kind for safety reasons.'

To date, a promotional YouTube video for the boat has been watched more than 100,000 times since it was uploaded on May 15.

Many viewers have praised Mr Lizzio for the design, although one noted that it 'looks like a floating ashtray.'
