Japan?s whaling fleet is about to set sail for the Southern Ocean to kill 3,996 minke whales over the next 12 years. They say the whale hunt is for ?research purposes?, but in 2014, the International Court of Justice ruled that the previous plan was not scientific and refused the Japanese government a permit.

Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull will be in Japan in mid-December. Call on him to make Australia?s view loud and clear: we reject all whaling in the Southern Ocean. The Japanese government must abide by international law.
