Since the foundation of Hessen Yachts (1978), the shipyard has launched an incredible number of 170 vessels. One of them is the amazing ?Galatea? which is, according to Hessen, the world?s fastest Dutch-built sportster. This beast can reach to a speed of 28 knots that equals 32.2 mph.
That?s why we were not surprised when it became a finalist for the World Superyacht Awards.
Check out the video:
This is not the only yacht that is up for the award for the Hessen shipyard, actually they have a total of six yachts as finalists, but ?Galatea? is definitely one head-turner.
The 40m aluminum semi-displacement design features the newest MTU 16V 4000 M73L engines, which is how it reaches such high speeds and maintains a nautical range of 2,200 miles. It has an eight-meter beam, giving it tons of interior space that allows for up to five cabins?including a large master suite with its own study, two VIP cabins, and two twin rooms.
In terms of entertainment ?Galatea? features three distinct areas, a Sundeck that can be open or covered with a hard top, a sun pad on the foredeck and a dining terrace on the aft deck.
We?re sure that for the selection ?Galatea? was a no-brainer option, but will it win? We?ll have to wait until May 9.
