Princess 82

Princess has been a leader in the motorboat industry since 1965 and are known for their two main values: quality and heritage. They’ve won over some of the most serious ocean lovers out there. Today we’re going to review in depth the Princess 82, a powerful and luxurious model that could be just the right one for you!

Let’s start with the deck. This area features twin electric-powered stern line mooring winches, foredeck seating and sunbathing area with coffee table, storage lockers for rope, fenders and foredeck sunbed cushions, a telephone connection point, stern docking lights and transom doors giving direct access to lazarette and the utility area.

The cockpit is definitely one of the best features of this model; with U-shaped seating and a teak folding table, this area is perfect for relaxing with your family or crew. It also includes twin transom gates leading to the bathing platform with electro-hydraulic raise/lower mechanism, foldaway swimming ladder as well as a hot and cold shower. It has a door leading to the crew cabin from the side deck, a washbasin, a 3.8m telescopic passerelle remote control with folding handrail, and liferaft stowage.

Next, let’s move to the Wheel House with Helm position and powered raise/lower console, repeat navigation equipment including radar/chart plotter, engine instrumentation and Helm seat with electric adjustment, you can be sure you’ll be completely comfortable and secure.

It also features comfortable U-shaped seating with a table to port, a helmsman’s door to side deck and electric opening window to port, an instrument console with engine instruments and fuel gauges, full engine instrumentation, exhaust temperature, fuel contamination alarms, and rudder position indicator.

The navigation system includes color radar, GPS and chart plotter in two displays, VHF/RT, speed and distance log, echo sounder with alarm, autopilot, high-speed magnetic compass and an intercom to flybridge. It also has controls for bow thruster, windscreen wipers, bilge pump and trim tabs (with indicator), chart table with light and chart stowage, a 24v and 240v control panel and toughened glass screen (clear for night vision).

Next to the Wheel House we find the Flybridge, a space designed to offer comfort to your crew and family. Here we find an L-shaped seating area with folding teak table and twin forward J-shaped seating,a sun pad with storage below (option for built-in spa bath), MP3 radio with waterproof speakers and a Wet bar including sink, storage, an electric barbecue, and a loading cooler box.

The Deck Saloon features a U-shaped seating area and two-seater sofa with coffee table and an entertainment center incorporating 50” LED TV on electric raise/lower mechanism and DVD, radio/MP3 system with surround sound system.

There is a sideboard unit with bottle and glass storage, refrigerator, icemaker and a dining area (for 8 people), with sideboard port and starboard units.

The Galley features a 4-zone ceramic hob and a microwave/conventional oven combination with grill. It also has twin stainless-steel sinks with mixer tap, a full height fridge/freezer, dishwasher and lobby area with space for additional refrigerator or wine cooler and coffee machine.

The Lobby area has a full height storage cupboard with the option of fitting an additional washer/dryer and under-floor storage.

Let’s move to the Cabin’s area. The Owner’s Stateroom features a large double bed with drawers below, a dressing area with wardrobes with hanging and drawer storage, a dressing table with a chair and an optional table with fore and aft seats. A built-in safe 46” LED TV and DVD, radio/MP3 system with surround sound and an en suite bathroom are all there too.

The Forward Guest Cabin features a large double bed with drawers below, a 28” LED TV, stereo radio/MP3, wardrobe with shelves, a vanity unit, storage lockers and drawers, overhead and individual berth lights, deck hatch with fly screen and blind, and an en-suite bathroom with day access.

The Starboard Guest Cabin includes one large double bed with drawers below, a wardrobe with shelves, a dressing table with stool and an en suite bathroom with day access. The Port Guess Cabin features two single beds with drawers below (with the option of powered conversion to double), wardrobe with shelves and an en-suite bathroom.

The Crew Quarters features a crew cabin with two single berths, wardrobe and storage lockers, a bathroom with separate stall shower, electric quiet flush toilet and washbasin, a storage/utility area (optional additional crew cabin or mess area) and a washing and dryer machine.

All cabins feature opening portholes and 220/240v power points, all mattresses are pocket sprung. The bathrooms also feature opening portholes and full shower stalls, electric quiet flush toilets, extractor fan and 240v shaver points

For the furniture, you can choose between Serotina Cherry and Light Oak with satin or high gloss finish. American Walnut or Rovere Oak are also available as options. All the worktops and tiled floors in all bathrooms are made from marble or granite, the same with the galley worktop and timber-laid floor. There are curtains, blinds or sunscreens on all windows and portholes.

This Princess 82 is powered by two Twin Caterpillar C32 A (2 x 1,622mhp) or you can choose to switch that for one of these options: the Twin MTU 10V 2000 M94 (2 x 1,624mhp) or the Twin Caterpillar C32 A (2 x 1,723mhp).

Its power and drive systems features 5-bladed propellers in nickel aluminum bronze, a bow thruster (240kgf/529lbf), a power-assisted electro-hydraulic steering system with hydraulic backup, an electronic engine, gear shift controls, and dripless shaft seals.

Its fuel system includes twin fuel tanks (in NS8 marine grade alloy) with interconnection system giving a 1,417 gal/1,701 US gal/6,442l capacity and fuel fillers on port and starboard side decks.

Its water system consists of 265 gal/318 US gal/1,204l plus 40 gal/48 US gal/182l hot water calorifier, heated by engines and 240v immersion heater, and an electric quiet flush WC system with 100 gal/120 US gal/455l holding tank.

It features 153,000Btu chilled water system with outlets in all accommodation areas and incorporating reverse cycle heating with linked windscreen de-mist system. This Air Conditioning system is suitable for tropical conditions of 40°C.

Its hull material is pure fiberglass, which withstands harsh marine environments with ease!

It has a L.O.A. of 83ft 7in (25.5m) a beam of 18ft 10in (5.74 m) and a draft of 5ft 9in (1.75m). Its fuel capacity is 1,417 gal/1,701 US gal/6,442l and its water capacity is 305 gal/366 US gal/1,386l.
